STENCILING
Creating and applying stenciling to church walls and ceiling at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Unionville 2019
The plaster had been pulling away from the old lathe for years is certain sections so now it was time for
drywall before the stenciling can begin
drywall before the stenciling can begin
The dry-walling part of the project
After the adequate background colour was found, now is the border and striping stage
In all, 4 different colours needed to be painted even before the stenciling
Since there were no original stencils around I had to start from scratch and trace them out on another section of the church. Then on a table I cut them out with an exacto knife.
Starting with the squares at one end. The leaves were unaffected by the dry-walling.
Carefully removing the stencil after painting with a small roller
Moving right along!
Now onto the what I call "The Rope" stencil because from the floor it has the appearance of a rope
Applying paint to the rope stencil
Here's the result that I was looking for, that you wouldn't even notice that it was redone!
